FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What about fire safety?
Candlecover is designed to be placed around a votive candle/tea light. This can be done safely. Candlecover can withstand the heat from a votive candle/tea light, and this applies to both the small and large votive candles/tea lights commonly available in stores (maximum diameter of 6 cm/2.36 in.). To ensure optimal safety, the candle must be placed inside a suitable glass container. These are readily obtainable at many retail outlets (such as IKEA). Be sure to keep burning candles out of reach of children and pets. Do not leave burning candles unattended.

How durable are the standard designs?
The designs are scratch-proof.

Can I have my own design printed onto a Candlecover?
Yes, you can. For orders up to 1,000 units, this is done using thermal transfer printing (rub-proof). The delivery time is around 14 business days after the order is received. The printable surface area is 150 mm high x 275 mm wide (5.9 x 10.8 inches). For orders over 1,000 units, the Candlecovers can be printed with a special design in batch production. These products have the same scratch-proof printing as our standard designs. The printable surface area is 160 mm high x 300 mm wide (6.3 x 11.8 inches), which is the full sheet.

Note regarding commercial use: The printing for special orders up to 1,000 units is rub-proof and appears on the inside of the Candlecover. While the quality of this kind of printing is good, it is not necessarily suited to heavy use, such as anywhere the Candlecovers might get moved around a lot, cleaned, handled by customers, etc. This type of printing is more suited to home use. The thermal transfer image on the Candlecover can be damaged if cleaned. A better option for commercial use in the hospitality industry is to order 1,000 units or more. The printing for these orders is scratch-proof, just as with our standard designs. Candlecover can then also be used as a giveaway or promotional gift.

How do I submit my design?
Send an e-mail with your design ideas to info@candlecovershop.nl. Include any text you might want and a logo or image, if applicable. We will create the design for you free of charge. Images must, of course, be sufficiently high resolution and preferably delivered as JPG (200-300 DPI) and/or PDF files.

How can I clean Candlecovers with standard design prints?
Candlecovers printed with a standard design can be cleaned using a mild cleanser. Be sure to rinse the Candlecover with sufficient water afterward. Use only a soft cloth to clean and dry the Candlecover. We also recommend using only soot-free candles/tea lights. When you snuff the candle, be sure to wait until all of the smoke has disappeared before putting the Candlecover back into place.

How can I clean Candlecovers with special designs?
The limited edition series of Candlecovers (up to 1,000 units) are produced using thermal transfer printing (rub-proof but not scratch-proof). The print is on the inside of the Candlecover. If you clean the Candlecover, you will damage the print. We therefore recommend using only soot-free candles/tea lights. When you snuff the candle, be sure to wait until all of the smoke has disappeared before putting the Candlecover back into place.

How is the Candlecover delivered?
The Candlecover is delivered as a flat sheet and is very easy to assemble. The edges are pre-cut with slots along one side and corresponding tabs along the other, which fit into the slots.
